Member of the Municipal Council, the representative of the fourth district, Mohamed Hussein Darraj, submitted a proposal to compel the companies to connect applications to install a distance tracker on its motorcycles, with the aim of tracking sites and monitoring speed, especially within the residential neighborhoods.
Drag pointed to the increasing number of motorcycles in residential areas, which poses a threat to the parents, especially children, calling for reducing the permissible speed of these bikes in the neighborhoods, and the liberalization of violations against violators of the specified speed.
He explained that he had received many complaints from citizens about the speed of delivery bikes, stressing the need to move to organize their work in order to preserve public safety.
The Municipal Council of the southern region recommended that the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture to submit the recommendation to the Ministry of Interior to take the necessary action.
