Today, the Kingdom of Bahrain has officially deposited its acceptance instrument of the World Trade Organization Convention on Fish traps, to become the ninety -seventh member (97), which is admission procedures, with fourteen additional acceptance of the agreement to enter into force.
The deposit ceremony took place at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization in Geneva, in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, and Miss Maryam Abdulaziz Al -Dossary, the commercial attaché of the permanent mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Geneva.
The Agreement for Support of Fish Holes has been adopted during the twelfth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization, and it represents a historical achievement aimed at reducing harmful forms of support that contribute to overfishing and strengthening sustainable management of global maritime resources.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s deposit for admission instructs its firm commitment to supporting the multilateral trade system, supporting sustainable development initiatives, and contributing to preserving marine wealth for future generations.
