The counselor, Dr. Hanafi Jabali, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, referred during the plenary session today, to the competent committees a draft law submitted by the government on some provisions related to the laws of renting places, and to amend some provisions of Law No. 4 of 1996 regarding the validity of the provisions of the civil law on the places that have ended or expired contracts without anyone having the right to stay there.
The government is submitting a draft law for the old procedure
The Speaker of the House of Representatives instructed the Joint Committee to conduct a community dialogue on the two draft laws to listen to the visions of all related parties.
This came at the beginning of the council session held today, Tuesday, April 29, where the counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Chairman of the Council, assigned the Joint Committee from (The Housing and Public Facilities and Development Committee, and the office of the local administration committees, and constitutional and legislative affairs) to hold its meetings to discuss the two draft laws in an accurate way, and to conduct an extensive community dialogue around them in the presence of the relevant ministers, and listen to the visions of the relevant authorities, especially the National Council for Human Rights and the Central Agency For public mobilization and statistics, listen to the opinions of civil law professors in Egyptian universities, experts, and all scientific opinions related to this file, as well as providing the full opportunity for the parties of the main interests – owners and tenants – to express their opinions and attitudes towards the two draft laws with the utmost clarity and transparency.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives said: Everyone is reassured that this project with a law will not come out of the parliament except in a balanced legislative form that guarantees the rights of both sides of the rental relationship and achieve justice between them.
