Abdulaziz Al -Sayed, head of the Poultry Division at the Chamber of Commerce, revealed that the price of egg carton today is less than 100 pounds, stressing that he is following the prices of farms periodically.
Poultry Division: 45% decreased in egg prices since Ramadan
Al -Sayed said in televised statements, that the price on farms is about 90 pounds, while the price in the Holding Company for Food Industries reaches 120 pounds, while in some stores, the price may rise to 140 pounds.
He appealed to the supervisory authorities to follow up prices within stores that exceed logical prices, stressing the importance of tightening control over intermediate rings to control the market and reducing unjustified heights.
He also indicated that there is a significant decrease in prices since Ramadan, as the prices of eggs decreased by up to 45%, and poultry prices also witnessed a 25%decrease.
The prices of white chicken witnessed a remarkable increase, as the price of white chicken recorded about 5 pounds per kilo on farms, and the selling prices for the consumer vary in stores and markets to record about 89 pounds per kilo according to each region.
