The Parliamentary Services Committee approved a draft law amending Article (26) of Law No. (19) of 2006 regarding the regulation of the labor market, which is aimed at preventing the termination of citizens ’contracts.
The project includes organizing the process of ending the worker’s contract for economic reasons in a manner that achieves social justice, by obliging employers to attach financial reports and any other documents with notification, as well as entitlement to the entire compensation prescribed, and taking into account that business owners take the necessary measures to prevent the completion of citizens ’work contracts, except in the urgent case and according to the controls determined by the law, and the creation of a new article with (110) bis) organizes what is mentioned in Article (110) From the same law, from indicating the notifications sent from employers to the ministry.
The government called for a review of the draft law, because it does not achieve a positive benefit for both parties to the labor relationship, and the desired purpose of the draft law is achieved through the texts of the Labor Law, as the draft law violates the legislative policy in force in the labor law, as the philosophy of the Labor Law is based on achieving the maximum amount of flexibility in dealing with the regulation of the relationship between the two parties to the labor relationship.
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry called for maintaining the texts of the proposed materials to be amended in their current form in order to achieve the principle of a fair balance between the rights and duties of the parties represented in workers and business owners.
