On Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of one of those involved in crimes against civilians in Syria.
The ministry said, in a post on its Facebook page: “The Lattakia Security Directorate, with a tight ambush, arrested the criminal Orwa Suleiman, who was involved in crimes against civilians.”
She added that Suleiman “participated with his group in the military campaign against the liberated north in 2019, and he committed murders against civilians and also participated in the attack on army and security points last March.”
The ministry indicated that the arrested person was referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigations against him.
The new authorities in Syria are launching extensive security campaigns, to control the symbols of the previous regime who say they are involved in crimes during the past years.
