US billionaire Elon Musk said on Tuesday that he would reduce work with President Donald Trump in May to focus more on Tesla.
Musk stated that he will reduce “significantly” the time he devotes to the Trump administration, and will spend more time in the Tesla administration starting in May, after the company announced a significant decline in its profits during the first quarter of the year.
The 130 -day assignment of Mask is scheduled to end as a private government employee in the Trump administration in late May.
Tesla faced angry protests due to the leadership of a mask for a federal government team concerned with reducing jobs, which caused a division inside the country.
Tesla, which is based in Austin, Texas, said on Tuesday that its quarterly profits decreased by 71 % to reach 409 million dollars, or 12 cents per share, which is much lower than the expectations of analysts.
The company’s revenues fell 9 % to $ 19.3 billion during the period from January to March, less than Wall Street’s expectations.
These disappointing results come at a time when the company is struggling to sell its cars amid consumer anger at the role of a mask in the Trump administration.
His public support for right -wing extremist politicians in Europe led to the aversion of some potential buyers there as well.
Some of Tesla investors complained that Musk has become very dispersed because of his role in the Ministry of Governmental efficiency, which affected his ability to manage Tesla effectively.
