The White House announced today, Tuesday, that US President Donald Trump will make an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates during the period from May 13 to 16, 2025.
This is the second international trip that the American president has been holding since his inauguration on January 20, after his scheduled visit to the Vatican to attend the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis.
White House spokeswoman, Caroline Levitte, told a press conference: President Trump will visit Saudi Arabia to sign an investment agreement, as well as visits to Qatar and the UAE to enhance bilateral relations and discuss regional and international issues.
She added that the specialized teams are working to determine the final details of the trip, which will be announced later.
Informed sources indicated that the visit aims to enhance economic and security cooperation, in addition to discussing the developments of the situation in the Middle East, including the Russian -Ukrainian war, as Saudi Arabia hosts talks between the two parties.
In previous statements from the Oval Office, Trump alluded to the importance of these countries, praising the leaders in the Emirates and Qatar.
This tour comes within the framework of the Trump administration’s endeavor to enhance strategic partnerships in the region, as Saudi Arabia was a major destination in its first foreign tour during its first term in 2017.
