Engineer Mohamed Shemi, Minister of Public Business Sector, said that the ministry is within the framework of implementing the work strategy it adopts to advance the performance of its subsidiary companies has already begun in a number of leading initiatives and projects to develop and localize industrial technology and the green transformation to achieve sustainability.
Development and localization of industrial technology
The Minister, during his participation in the plenary session of the Senate headed by Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, President of the Council, in the presence of Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs and Political Communication, pointed to a number of projects to localize various industries, including the national project for the development of the textile industry, which includes 7 companies at the level of the Republic with huge investments and the use of the latest global technologies, where the implementation and operation of its first stage has been completed at the end of last year, Work is underway in the second and third phases for their completion by the end of this year.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi added that the Ministry’s medicine sector also witnessed the implementation of a project to agree with the requirements of good manufacturing (GMP) in 8 companies belonging to the drugs, and included a comprehensive or partial development of a number of regions, productive lines, stores, water and electricity stations, as well as other projects to localize the industry such as making the most effective raw materials in need of the Egyptian market in Al -Nasr Drug Chemical Company, and an industry project project Biological preparations at the Nile Pharmaceutical Company, the project to localize the hormone industry in the “Sayed” pharmaceutical company, and the Arab Medicines Company project to create a new production area for dry discs for inhalation.
The minister touched on the automotive industry localization projects, where the Al -Nasr auto industry company was recently revived and restored and the beginning was at the bus factory with a rate of production of 5 buses per week, where buses were produced and supplied with international specifications for a number of tourism transport companies and the supply is being completed according to contracts, in addition to the project of producing electrical buses by establishing a company in cooperation with two companies, one of which is Singaporean Taiwanese and the other Emirati for the production of buses and mini air buses and the collection of electrical batteries and chassis, and the project of rehabilitating the production lines of passengers of all kinds in a factory (4) in Al -Nasr in its final stages and includes the work of the car’s body welding and paint and assembly in preparation for the start of production during the coming period.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi also referred to a number of recycling projects, including the Egypt Industrial Silk Company project for the production of polyester “Resik” through two projects, one of them from recycling plastic water bottles
The other from the recycling of fabrics and the rest of the clothing factories and furnishings in cooperation with a foreign investor, and the project of recycling of malice at Egypt aluminum, which aims to produce aluminum metal and reduce pollution resulting from trading and storage operations and ensure a safe manner in a production capacity of 8000 tons annually, and the establishment and operation of the industrial drainage treatment plant in Al -Nasr Fertilizer Company in Suez and includes 3 units (processing unit (processing unit (processing unit) Industrial drainage – sewage treatment unit – the vaporization unit), aims to cover about 85% of the company’s water needs used in the production process.
In his speech, the minister moved to clean energy projects, including a project to establish a solar power plant with a capacity of 1000 megawatts and storage batteries with a capacity of 200 megawatts/ hour to provide a large part of the needs of Egypt Aluminum Company from clean energy in cooperation with the Norwegian Skatak Company, and the green aluminum production project with a capacity of 600 thousand tons annually, as well as a project to create a glass production unit used in solar power panels Al -Nasr Glass and Crystal Company, and the project to establish a factory for the production of green ammonia at Al -Nasr Fertilizer Company with a capacity of 1000 tons/day in partnership with the private sector.
With regard to the projects being implemented to maximize the return from the productive resources of the assets of subsidiary companies, the minister pointed to a number of projects at Misr Aluminum Company for the purpose of increasing the added value and reducing imports, including the wire production machine with a production capacity of 60,000 tons annually, and the project to produce pharmaceutical packages with a capacity of 300 tons/month, in addition to the project to rehabilitate the existing molten to maintain the current production capacity of 310 thousand tons annually for a period Another 20 years, and a project to create a silo to store alumina with a capacity of 50 thousand tons / year.
In the Kima Fertilizer Company in Aswan, the FIRACLECE Factory has been rehabilitated and operated for 5 years with a production capacity of 18 thousand tons annually, and an investor for operation was contracted with expected returns for Kima 1.8 million dollars annually from the production of silicuming alloys and secondary products, and the project to establish a sulfuric acid factory with a capacity of 600 tons/day and another for ammonium nitrate with a capacity of 800 tons/day.
As for the Delta Fertilizer Company, it is being revived through the implementation of an urgent reform and maintenance plan – as a first stage – to operate the factories that have been suspended for 5 years, provided that the second stage includes the modernization of production lines and technology and increased production capacity in partnership with a strategic investor.
In the tourism and hotels sector, the minister explained that a number of projects are being implemented through the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, including the revival of the historic Continental Hotel in the Opera Square and its outstanding nature, the project of developing the Omar Effendi branch in Abdel Aziz Street in central Cairo to re -exploit the hotel activity, and the project of developing the Nile Ritz -Carlton Hotel in Tahrir Square while maintaining the continuity of operation, and the resort project “Carnellia Beach” in Marsa Alam, and the project of developing the “Port Said – Misr Tourism” hotel, along with the commercial company project for the establishment of a plastic wood factory in the tenth of Ramadan.
As for the construction and construction sector, it also witnesses many projects for the companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Construction and Development, such as the development of New Heliopolis City – Heliopolis Housing and Development Company, the “Grand View Smouha” project of Alexandria Investment and Urban Development Company, which consists of 13 commercial residential tower, and the “Grand Vio Smouha 2” project, which is scheduled to include 9 commercial residential towers, And projects for Al -Nasr Housing and Reconstruction Company, including the development of the Mokattam Corniche and the Central Plateau – to establish residential, commercial, administrative and recreational activities, an integrated administrative commercial project on the Joseph Tito road, and the administrative commercial housing projects “Lamara”, “Valeria” and the flowers A “Up” and “Plato” in Mokattam, and the second stage of the “Maadi Vio project” for Maadi For Development and Development and the “Cell” project in the new Mansoura.
