The Israeli government canceled the entry visas of 27 deputies and a left -wing French official who were to visit Israel and the Palestinian territories on Sunday, amid diplomatic tensions after statements by French President Emmanuel Macron, during which he announced that Paris would soon recognize a Palestinian state.

The decision of the occupation government just days after Tel Aviv was prevented from British parliamentarians from the ruling Labor Party from entering Israel.

Acknowledging the Palestinian state

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country may recognize an independent Palestinian state by next June, as this decision will be taken in the context of moving towards recognition of the Palestinian state, and in the context of France’s participation in an international dynamic to achieve this goal.

Macron’s statement came after his visit to the city of Al -Arish, where he met a number of Palestinian wounded who were injured as a result of the ongoing war in Gaza since October 2023, and who are receiving treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

In an interview with France 5, Macron said he wanted to move forward towards recognizing the Palestinian state, stressing that this step will not be the aim of satisfying this or that person, but rather because the matter will be fair and because France wants to participate in peace dynamics.
