His Excellency Mrs. Fatima bint Jaafar Al -Serafi, Minister of Tourism, affirmed the durability of Bahraini -Chinese relations in various fields, especially in the tourism sector, noting the mutual keenness to enhance the bonds of cooperation and expand the horizons of partnership between the two friendly countries.
This came during the reception of her happiness as a delegation from the Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China, headed by His Excellency Mr. Leo Hongbeng, Deputy Governor of the Province, and in the presence of a number of officials in the fields of culture, tourism, sports and foreign affairs in the province.
Her Excellency explained that China is one of the main tourism markets targeted by the Kingdom of Bahrain within the tourism strategy 2022-2026, and is keen on continuing tourism promotion efforts in cooperation with major travel and tourism companies, studying the interests of the Chinese tourist, with the aim of continuing to attract more Chinese visitors through the launch of tourist bouquets in cooperation with the offices and travel agents in the friendly country, enhancing bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector through Coordination with the major companies concerned with the conference tourism sector, meetings and businesses in the People’s Republic of China to hold qualitative activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, ways to enhance tourism cooperation with the Guangdong Province were discussed, as well as discussing the opportunities available to exchange experiences, and organize joint tourism events and initiatives. Her Excellency drew attention to the inauguration of the Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, for direct flights to both the cities of Guanjo and Shanghai, supporting joint efforts in various fields, especially in the economic and tourism fields.
Minister Al -Serafi affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s aspiration to build on the existing relations with the People’s Republic of China, in a way that contributes to opening new horizons for specific cooperation, especially in the field of sustainable tourism, the exchange of tourism and investment delegations, and the introduction of tourism, heritage and cultural ingredients that the Kingdom of Bahrain abounds in.
For his part, His Excellency Mr. Leo Hongbeng expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, stressing the keenness of the Guangdong district to strengthen cooperation relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to discuss initiatives that contribute to developing tourism and cultural cooperation between the two sides.
