The activities of the first Arab Forum for Heritage Media, organized by the Arab Federation for Heritage Media in Cairo, held from April 14 to 17, 2025, were launched in the presence of media professionals from 8 Arab countries, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, and Egypt.
The first forum for heritage media includes workshops to enhance the targeted media work to preserve the Arab heritage, in addition to field visits to the Grand Museum and the Pyramids, which is one of the wonders of the ancient world.
The forum aims to develop a road map for media professionals interested in heritage, antiquities and sectors related to enhancing awareness and preserving Arab cultural and heritage, where distinguished experiences and initiatives are reviewed from Arab countries to preserve Arab heritage
The President of the Arab Federation for Heritage Media, Dr. Youssef Al -Kazim, stressed, in his opening speech, that the challenges facing heritage in the Arab world are many and complex, and require intensification of efforts that must be united and develop to solve these problems.
Al -Kazim mentioned the importance of uniting media visions in front of the Arab citizen to be more related and steadfast in conviction of the importance of preserving his legacies and heritage.
For his part, Vice President of the Arab Federation for Heritage Media, Journalist Khaled Khalil, said that the inauguration of the first forum for heritage media is a separate and influential line in the march of Arab heritage and reveal the best ways that force everyone to respect and preserve heritage.
The member of the Federation and the Secretary -General Abdul Rahman Al -Bassiouni stressed that “the start of the union is an initiative from the Arab media to preserve our Arab cultural and heritage identity, and that the launch of the first heritage media site is a positive gesture to reach the Arab citizen to sow awareness to preserve his cultural and heritage wealth that is a witness to its history that is stripped in the depths of other civilizations.”
“The prospects for heritage media work are one of the most prominent means of preserving the Arab and Islamic heritage of our Arab and Islamic countries, especially with the possession of the Arab world for more than 89 heritage sites registered in UNESCO, which is an invaluable wealth that must be preserved and maintains its correct situation without any assault, because it is an inherent right of our children Next.
In turn, Yamina Shair, a member of the Board of Directors from Algeria, explained the goals of launching the first heritage media site in the Arab region, which is to focus on simplifying the concepts of heritage for the Arab citizen and developing the appropriate methods for him to understand the importance of his heritage, and reveal to him the types of Arab heritage and ways to preserve it.
For his part, Salah Al -Qadri, a member of the Board of Directors from Yemen, stated that the inauguration of the first heritage media forum and the presence of a large number of university professors and specialists in the material and non -material heritage is a success certificate for the idea and stabilizing its pillars by Arab Heritage Academics.
