Samir bin Abdullah Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chaired the delegation of the Chamber, which includes Mr. Walid Ibrahim Kano, Deputy Financial Secretary, Chairman of the Coordination Group of the sectoral committees in the Bahrain Chamber, and Mrs. Sonia Janahi, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors participating in the opening of the work of the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference, organized by the Arab Labor Organization, in Cairo, during the period from 19 to 26 April 2025, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and with the participation of official delegations from 21 Arab countries, It includes labor ministers, representatives of governments, business owners and workers.
Throughout its convening, the conference will discuss a number of important issues, most notably economic diversification as a path for development: promising economies in Arab countries “and comprehensive social policies and their role in reducing poverty and enhancing economic integration, and the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors in supporting diversification policies, in addition to the challenges related to digitization in member states.
The conference reviews the annexes related to the regular and constitutional committees, including the Board of Directors of the Arab Labor Organization, the Committees of Union Freedoms, the Affairs of Arab Women, and the Legal Experts, in addition to a report on the Arab Business Entrepreneurship Project, as well as the formation of the constitutional and regular bodies of the organization for the period (2025 – 2027), which includes the Board of Directors, the Financial and Administrative Control Authority, the Committee of Union Freedoms, and the Women’s Work Affairs Committee Al -Arabiya, and the Committee for the Public Experts for the period (2025-2028).
On this occasion, Samir bin Abdullah Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that the Chamber’s participation in the Arab Labor Conference comes within the framework of its constant keenness to support and enhance joint Arab action and effective contribution to providing the support and advice necessary for the governments of member states in a way that contributes to the drawing of public policies of labor issues in the Arab world.
He explained that the conference constitutes an important platform for the exchange of experiences and experiences between member states, especially in the areas of creating job opportunities and the development of workforce, especially that empowering and integrating Arab youth in the labor market represents a strategic priority that contributes to the stability of Arab societies and achieving their sustainable development, praising the conference’s interest in labor issues and promising economies, stressing the importance of recommendations that call for expanding the base of production and promoting the partnership between the public and private sectors, As necessary steps to advance the Arab action system and enhance its ability to face future challenges.
