What happened to Banban in less than a month?
The events started since the second half of Ramadan 2025, where a special advertisement for a company that sparked controversy appeared, after being explicitly accused of submitting an advertisement that insulted a sweets companies in Egypt.
Soon after the Banban Declaration, the company announced its official apology after the intervention of the Supreme Media Council and the supervisory authorities, to recognize its clear mistake from its announcement, which insulted the existence of other companies.
It did not end with that, as only a few days passed and sayings appeared about the poisoning of Saudi citizens, after eating products in milk in Saudi Arabia, which have been proven to contain products that cause citizens to have various diseases, to write down a new dark page condemning the Banban company in Saudi Arabia.
Bulban responded in Egypt that all of its products in Egypt and all of its customers were not subjected to any diseases of their products, which calmed down the Egyptian street, and reassured their fears of possible injuries, as happened in Saudi Arabia.
On Friday morning, the company announced that the supervisory authorities decided to close 110 branches of the Banban company, for various and disturbing reasons, which prompted them to make an urgent decision to close all branches on the branches for fear of injuries that may affect citizens, and based on official analyzes.
Banban said in an official statement today: We announce clearly and explicitly that we are ready to fully submit to all forms of examination, review, audit and accountability, and we welcome any committee, supervisory body, or legal procedure from the state, and we only ask that we get a real opportunity, logical and fair deadline to correct any observations monitored, so that we can stand on our feet again, and complete our work.
The statement added: We also appeal to all the concerned authorities, to intervene quickly to protect a national entity that grew up in this country, serves its children, and its name is proudly exported to the outside, as we hope to stand beside us at this critical moment, so that years of effort are not lost, so that the livelihoods of thousands of families are not cut, and so that we do not lose a project – and still – an Egyptian success story that deserves to continue.
