The US Central Command announced the destruction of Ras Issa fuel port in Hodeidah Governorate in Yemen, which is under the control of the Houthi group. She explained in a post on the “X” platform that the American forces took this step to eliminate what it described as “the source of fuel for the Houthi terrorists backed by Iran.”
Economic goal, not civilian
The leadership confirmed that the strike did not target civilians or the Yemeni people, but rather was aimed at undermining the Houthi economic ability, in light of their continued threat to international navigation in the Red Sea.
Multiple raids and simultaneous targeting
Houthi media reported that two American raids targeted the Al -Sama area in Arhab district in Sanaa, along with four other raids on the Ras Issa area.
American sanctions on the International Bank of Yemen
In parallel with the air strikes, the US Treasury announced the imposition of sanctions on the International Bank of Yemen, accusing him of providing financial support to the Houthi group. The sanctions included three senior bank officials: Kamal Al -Jabri, Ahmed Thabet Al -Absi, and Abdul Qadir Bazraa.

Despite the efforts of the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden to transfer the banks’ headquarters from the Houthi control areas, the International Bank of Yemen refused to comply, which prompted Washington to take the step of sanctions as part of its efforts to support the stability of Yemen and prevent the Houthis from financing their attacks.
