Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Matthews Regas, President of the Greek Engine Company and Nicolas Katcharov, the company director in Egypt, received, where the two sides discussed the acceleration of joint cooperation between the oil sector and the Greek company in its concession areas to produce natural gas in the Mediterranean.

It is noteworthy that Enerine operates and develops three areas for the production of natural gas, which are Abu Qir, North Amiri and North ADCO.
Engineer Karim Badawi stressed the speed of the Ministry’s support to enhance the partnership, overcome the challenges and achieve the desired results in the framework of its strategy to increase local production of natural gas, stressing also the importance of exploiting the new opportunities that the Mediterranean regions abound and the Ministry puts them to invest in exploring gas resources and their production.
Matthews Regas, President of Enervin, confirmed its commitment to work and investing in Egypt and supporting plans to develop natural gas resources through its activities in its current concession areas, as well as to enhance the partnership and obtain new opportunities that support future expansion in the Egyptian gas exploration and production sector.
The meeting also touched on the ways of cooperation in the field of capturing carbon storage in the context of the expertise owned by the Greek company and the joint Egyptian -Greek consensus on cooperation in implementing environmental sustainability solutions and reducing carbon emissions.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Ehab Rajai, the first undersecretary of the Ministry for Production Affairs, Dr. Samir Raslan, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Conventions and Exploration and Engineer Osama Al -Samnoudi, Vice President of the Holding Company for Natural Gas (EGAS) for operations and networks.
