Doctors at Dr. Sobendi Hospital stated that the infection is often transmitted as a result of exposure to an unclean environment, whether through contaminated water, soil contact or waste without protection, or eating with contaminated hands. They also explained that the obstruction of the intestine resulting from these parasites is one of the rare but serious complications, and in some cases it may lead to a hole in the intestine, which represents a direct threat to life.

During the operation, the small intestine was opened about 50 cm away from its meeting with the large intestine, the worms were manually extracted, then the intestine is carefully sewn. The analyzes showed that the child suffers from anemia resulting from iron loss due to the feeding of worms on the blood.

The child received an intense treatment that included antibiotics and antibiotic drugs such as “Pirantel Bamwat” and “Albindazole”, and the hospital left a week after follow -up.

Doctors warned of the seriousness of this infection, especially in areas that lack good sewage, stressing that personal hygiene, hand washing and safe food are effective ways to prevent such injuries.
