The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued today, Monday, 4/14/2025, the annual bulletin of livestock statistics in 2023. One of its most important indicators is:
7.3 % is an increase in the amount of bird meat and poultry during 2023
The number of live livestock heads (cows- buffalo- sheep- goats- beauty) reached 7.6 million heads in 2023 compared to 8.3 million heads in 2022, a decrease of 8.4%.
The total number of livestock and animal heads was 4.2 million heads in 2023, compared to 4.6 million heads in 2022, a decrease of 8.5%.
– The amount of livestock meat from slaughtered 650 thousand tons in 2023 compared to 803 thousand tons in 2022, a decrease of 19.0%.
– The estimated weight of local production of raw milk reached 5.6 million tons in 2023 compared to 6.7 million tons in 2022, a decrease of 16.1%.
– The amount of bird meat and poultry reached 2.2 million tons (existing weight) in 2023 compared to 2.0 million tons in 2022, with an increase of 7.3%.
– The amount of honey production reached 3.8 thousand tons in 2023 compared to 3.7 thousand tons in 2022, an increase of 3.3%.
The annual crop of eggs reached 16.4 billion eggs in 2023 compared to 15.3 billion eggs in 2022, with an increase of 7.0%.
