The Minister of Communications and Communications, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, issued Resolution No. 2025 to amend some provisions of Resolution No. 2021 regarding the terms of registration and safety and procedures for obtaining a license for navigation and the leadership license for small ships whose total load is less than 150 tons
The decision stated that it is replaced by the definition of the “Transponder Ships’ recognition” contained in Article 1 of Resolution No. ۲ of ۲۰۲۱ regarding the terms of registration and safety and procedures for obtaining a license for navigation and the driving license for small ships whose total load is less than one hundred and fifty tons, and the text of Article ۹ of the same decision, the following texts:
Article 1:
The transponder ships recognition and wireless reception device specified by the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior and licensed to the legal person by importing, selling and maintaining the owner of the ship provided that it is fixed on small ships, to work to send the vessel data, the location, the traffic and speed to the marine operations center of the Ministry of Interior, and determines the categories of the device, its technical characteristics and the scope of sailing for each category by the Coast Guard. At the Ministry of Interior, as follows:
A – The first category: The limited devices include the characteristics that were adopted by the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior, which are represented in the first sailing scope as shown in the map accompanying this decision.
B – The second category: The devices include comprehensive characteristics that were adopted by the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior, which are represented in the second sailing scope as shown in the map accompanying this decision.
Article 9:
Ship recognition and sailing range
With the exception of the “Jet Ski” water bicycles, no vehicle registered in accordance with the provisions of this decision may be sailed without placing the transponder ships on the ship according to the two categories stipulated in this decision, and its presence on the ship and its operation in accordance with technical assets and its programming and adherence to the scope of sailing is a condition of safety for small ships, provided that ship owners have the right to choose one of the two categories of ships And adhere to that category and its scope.
The device shown in the first paragraph of this article may not be transferred to any other ship except after obtaining the approval of the competent department in coordination with the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior.
Article Two:
Added to Article 1 of Resolution No. ۲ of ۲۰۲۱ regarding the terms of registration and safety and procedures for obtaining a license for navigation and driving leave for small ships whose total load is less than one hundred and fifty tons, a new definition, its following text:
Sailing scope:
The maritime distance specified by the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior, which is allowed to sail the sailing process for small ships in the waters of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is separated by the line located in the northern maritime region as follows:
The first domain: a limited scope in the internal waters and the regional sea of the first category devices, as shown in the map accompanying this decision.
The second domain: an open range in Bahraini waters for the second category devices, as shown in the map accompanying this decision.
