The source added to Cairo 24 that Dr. Badr Abbas assaulted the patient by beating after he prevented him from escaping, in an incident that was a violation of the mental health and patient rights law, but the hospital director has not been resolved for the administrative investigation until now, noting that the patient suffers from a buffer and a mental delay rate.

The two sources – who asked not to be named – explained that the details of the incident date back to March 16, as Dr. Badr Abbas presented, during his work as a deputy to the director, a person named Mohamed Bakr for the medical teams, as a psychiatrist who was newly transferred to the hospital, and asked him for a sick debate that had been in a state of irritation within the women’s department, during a tour with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Qalyubia.

The two sources emphasized that the person submitted as a doctor wrote notes in the patient’s medical file in a way that violates the scientific standards recognized in writing the reports of psychological cases, which raised the doubts of the medical team about his eligibility, which increased after discussions that took place between him and the doctors, which prompted them to summon the hospital security to examine his personal identity, to show that he does not work as a doctor and that his identity card shows his job as a “student”.
Chapter Five of the Patient Patient Care Law No. 71 of 2009, specifically Article 36, stipulated the controls of psychiatric rights, which included protection from economic or sexual exploitation, physical or psychological abuse, and degrading treatment. It also obliged to provide the necessary medical care in a safe and clean environment, and prohibited the restriction of patients’ freedom in a way that violates the provisions of the law.
