The Dakahlia Doctors Syndicate condemned, in an official statement, the incident of the attack on Dr. Ahmed Obaid, the trainee of the surgery fellowship at Al -Manzala General Hospital, by a deputy in the House of Representatives, stressing that any verbal or physical attack on the medical staff is an attack on the prestige of the profession and its human message.

The union clarified that it was informed of the incident after its completion, and this was followed by the doctor’s editing a note of reconciliation with his desire and without any pressure, according to the doctor himself.
The statement added that an immediate communication was made by Dr. Ali Tawfiq, the Syndicate of Dakahlia Doctors, and Dr. Abeer Abdel Qader, the treasurer, with the doctor to provide legal and psychological support, and to determine the circumstances of the incident and its developments.
The statement stated that the hospital administration and all the parties concerned were contacted to ensure the doctor’s protection and legal right, especially after what was circulated about his pressure and threats, which the union denied.
The statement indicated that the doctor Ahmed Obaid rejected the reconciliation attempts that were made at night by some public figures and families, on the condition that his father, lawyer Khaled Obaid, and the captain of the doctors.
The union affirmed its keenness to recall the details of the incident, in compliance with the general rules for publishing, in order to investigate accuracy, and to avoid slipping towards excitement and sedition.
The statement stressed that today an official apology was presented to the doctor Ahmed Obaid by the deputy in the House of Representatives, in the presence of his father and the captain of the doctors, and a number of public figures, in a friendly session aimed at ending the tag and removing the repercussions of the incident.
The union concluded its statement by confirming its constant keenness on the dignity of doctors and its condemnation of any attack, stressing its willingness to take all the necessary legal measures, calling on doctors to involve the union and inform it as soon as any attack occurred to ensure the necessary legal protection during the performance of their work.
