Dr. Jenna Al -Fiqi, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, participated in a Himati session entitled: “Research and Innovation – Enhancing the capabilities of scientific research and innovation through partnerships” which was held on the sidelines of the French -Egyptian Conference for Scientific and University Cooperation within the activities of the official visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt, in light of the established historical relations that bring together the two countries, which resulted in many aspects of joint cooperation in various The fields, especially the scientific research sector.

Dr. Jenna Al -Fiqi reviewed the outcomes of the successful partnership between Egypt and France, which is the product of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and represented by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has spanned 20 years since 2004 through the “Memtep” project with the aim of developing scientific cooperation between French researchers and Egyptians working in universities, centers and research institutes affiliated with the ministries, bodies or government institutions concerned in The two countries, where 233 projects were funded, at a rate of 11 projects that are chosen annually.

Al -Fiqi added that the funded projects cover a wide range of scientific fields, including basic and applied sciences, as well as social and human sciences.

Dr. Jenna Al -Fiqi also reviewed the academy’s efforts in providing an inspiring educational environment that enables talented students starting from an early age to discover their interests and develop their skills systematically, and takes into account the difference and the difference between the spectra and personal patterns through detailed individual educational programs, up to the support of master’s and doctorate students to participate in the summer school organized in the coefficient of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, for a sake The example and not limited to, in addition to participating in research projects in the fields of theoretical, experimental, engineering, and computing parties within the organization.

Al -Fiqi pointed to the academy’s efforts in international cooperation in general, starting with the promotion of the membership of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in the African Academies Network (NASAC), and the participation of the academy in the meeting of the leaders of science academies for member states of the “BRICS” group in Moscow, which is the first time that Egypt has participated in this meeting, and Egypt’s hosting of the General Assembly of Partnerships between Academies in 2025, and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology launched in cooperation with The World Intellectual Property Organization, the third version of the book “Green Technology to face climate change”, during the academy’s participation in the dialogue session in the United Nations pavilion in the Blue Region of the COP 29 Climate Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the title “New and Renewable Energy and its role in facing the environmental challenges of climate changes.”
