Dr. Bassam Ismail Al -Banmah Muhammad, member of the Shura Council, and MP Maryam Saleh Al -Dhaaan, participated in the meeting of the Standing Committee for the United Nations Affairs of the International Parliamentary Union, which was held today (Monday) within the work of the 150th Association of the Union, in the city of Tashkent in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The committee discussed at the meeting the United Nations field role to support national development, and the efforts made by the United Nations agencies to achieve the sustainable development goals, depending on the foundations and pillars of comprehensive social justice for all.
In its meeting, the committee focused on the efforts made by the United Nations through its Qatari team in developing development plans, and its responsibilities towards the government and parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting reviewed the success achieved by the International Parliamentary Union in documenting relations and ties between the United Nations in the parliaments of the countries of the world, in order to ensure the sustainability of the advancement of development work.
