Member of the Muharraq Municipal Council, Fadel Al -Oud, affirmed that work is underway to implement important maintenance projects and develop a number of complexes in the areas of Al -Deir and Samahij, as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at raising the efficiency of infrastructure and improving the quality of life in the region.
Al -Awd said in a statement to “Al -Watan”: “These complexes were worked on, as paving and maintenance work was implemented in a number of vital streets,” noting that these projects come as a continuation of the recommendations of the municipal council that have been approved since 2021, with the aim of addressing road challenges and raising the level of basic services provided to the people.
Al -Awd explained the details of the estimated cost of the work that included three main complexes, which are a complex 231 in the monastery, where the value of civil works reached 40 thousand Bahraini dinars, while the cost of asphalt works reached 850 thousand Bahraini dinars.
As for the 234 complex in Samahej, the cost of civil works amounted to 20 thousand dinars, and the asphalt works are 80 thousand dinars.
With regard to the 236th complex in Samaheeh, 20 thousand dinars were allocated to civil works, and 80 thousand dinars for asphalt work. Al -Oud pointed out that these projects will contribute to improving the reality of roads and alleviating the problems that the people have been suffering from for years, especially in rain periods, as they were damaged the streets and obstructing traffic.
Al -Oud stressed that the municipal council continues to work alongside government agencies to ensure the implementation of projects that contribute to improving the quality of life, noting that this project is part of a comprehensive vision to develop road networks in various areas of Muharraq.
He added: «We always seek to be the services provided at the level of citizens’ ambitions, so we work extensively to follow up on the established projects to ensure their implementation according to the required criteria, and we are keen to listen to the notes of the people and discuss ways to improve services continuously. ”
He added: “We are keen, through these projects, to raise the level of infrastructure to keep pace with the needs of the people, and enhance the quality of the road network in the monastery and Samahej, a step that reflects the council’s commitment to follow up the requirements of citizens.”
Al -Awd extended his thanks and appreciation to the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, praising his continuous follow -up and his keenness to quickly complete these projects, stressing that these efforts come within the framework of joint cooperation between the municipal council and the ministry to serve the people of the region.
Al -Oud stressed that the infrastructure is one of the most important priorities of the municipal work, as it is an essential pillar to advance the wheel of development and improve the quality of services for citizens, indicating that work continues to complete more projects during the coming period, with a focus on developing the rest of the complexes in the monastery, Samahej and various areas of Muharraq.
At the end of his statement, he added: “We aspire to reflect these projects on the comfort and safety of citizens.”
