A Reuters analysis of the customs duties symbols covered in a federal notification on Wednesday showed that the customs duties imposed by US President Donald Trump on cars by 25 percent will include imports of vehicles and auto parts worth more than $ 460 billion annually.

The American Statistical Office data shows that the value of the imports of this category amounted to 138.5 billion dollars in 2024.
The total US imports of vehicles and spare parts, with the exception of this category, reached 459.6 billion dollars. It was not immediately clear the value of auto computers, which is one of the basic components in the manufacture of any modern car and truck, including electric cars, due to the lack of a separate customs duties icon on cars computers.
