The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the recent wave of Israeli aggression against Syria, stressing that it was a blatant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The ministry explained that the Israeli forces launched air strikes on five different areas throughout the country within 30 minutes, which resulted in the almost complete destruction of Hama Military Airport and the injury of dozens of civilians and military personnel.
An Israeli escalation on Syria
She stated that this unjustified escalation constitutes a deliberate attempt to destabilize Syria and prolong the suffering of its people.
She added: At a time when Syria is seeking reconstruction after 14 years of war, these repeated attacks come in the context of a clear Israeli attempt to normalize violence again within the country, which undermines recovery efforts and enshrines the policy of impunity.
The Syrian Arab Republic called on the international community to take a firm position and pressure Israel to stop its aggression and adhere to international law and its pledges under the 1974 forces separation agreement.
It also urged the United Nations and all the relevant international bodies to take immediate measures to stop this escalation and prevent more violations.
