In a statement to Al -Watan, the basic role of the printing press is to print all curricula in government schools in its three stages, in addition to printing exams, some cultural books, national publications and novels. The institute is considered one of the largest Braille presses in the world, where it was launched in January 2017, and he pointed out in this regard that the institute was opened in the seventies, and at first he was handcrafted manually, then some books were printed outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, then the institute’s presses were established, until this large printing press was purchased. Its printing is 50 minutes, while the new printing press does not exceed the time of printing the book 5 minutes. He explained that the process of printing books goes through several stages, as the ordinary book that the sighted use is taken, and the books are written in the “Word” program, then the use of a special program that transforms writing into a Braille method and adapts them to the blind, and the program is not without errors, so the books are read and revised again and compared to the original books; To ensure that it is completely matched, all errors and differences are corrected, and their alignment to the blind student, and then giving printing an order, and all of this requires great efforts, the first of which is the conversion of the ordinary book into a “Word” file, then converting it into Braille through a special program, before it is printed. The alphabet that depends on sounds, and the same points are also written numbers, pointing out that this language gives the blind independence in life in the future, and makes it able to academic and professional excellence, stressing that the institute abounds with many handicrafts for the blind. The blind in schools, and that the blind students are attached to the kindergarten and custody stage in the kindergarten, and after they are well prepared, they are attached to government schools in order to obtain their right to education. He pointed out that the institute has been working under the supervision of the Ministry of Education since its foundation, where he has provided many leading services in the field of teaching people with visual disabilities, and one of its most prominent achievements in the last period is to provide this modern printing And the developer, which contributed greatly to facilitating the process of printing the curriculum, examinations, and educational bulletins, in addition to all subjects concerning this group of students. In this context, the institute expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Education for its continuous support and constant cooperation in facilitating all the processes that contribute to developing and improving the educational process.
