An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck today, the city of Karachi, the capital of Sindh region, south of Pakistan.
The Pakistani Meteorological and Geological Survey indicated that the earthquake center is 19 km depth, 75 km north of Karachi. There was no immediate news that loss of life or property occurred, but the earthquake forced Karachi residents to leave their homes for fear of a devastating shock.
