The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported the resignation of the Israeli Finance Minister in Salail Smotrich, from his position as minister of the current Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the newspaper, the head of the Religious Zionism Party in Salazel Smotrich, on Monday evening, resigned from his position as Minister of Finance and Second Secretary at the Ministry of Defense to return to the Knesset, after which he will be appointed again in the same positions in the Netanyahu government.

The reason for this step, according to Smutrich, is a violation of agreements with Etamar bin Jafir, Minister of Internal Security, according to the Hebrew newspaper.
In the last elections of the Israeli Knesset in 2022, Smutrich and Bin Jafir were nominated together in a joint faction, which consisted of two separate lists using the rich rich method, as each had a representation of their party members in the faction.
Bastel Smotrich is considered one of the most prominent leaders of the extreme right in Israel, which adopts anti -Palestinians, and has great colonial ambitions, most notably his desire to include the West Bank and control the Gaza Strip by force and support the Palestinian displacement file, and refuse to stop the war in the Strip.
Smotrich, accompanied by the other extremist Bin Jafir, was one of the largest supporters of the Israeli war resuming on the Gaza Strip.
