The health authorities in the United States announced that there are 483 confirmed cases of illness Measles In 20 US states so far this year, with the largest outbreak in Texas, 70 people across the country need hospitalization, according to the Guardian.

This is compared to 285 measles in the United States for the entire year of 2024, and the CDC centers (CDC) on its website reported that 97 % of the confirmed cases this year so far included people who were not vaccinated or their vaccination condition was not known, and that 75 % of cases this year affected people under the age of 19 years.
The spread of measles
The centers of control and prevention control said that there is one confirmed death due to the measles this year and another case under investigation due to its association with viral infection.
The main outbreak this year was in Texas, and its consequences were severe, and the state’s Ministry of Health has informed 400 measles infection in Texas until March 28.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in New Mexico state announced on Friday that there are currently 44 measles infection, a number higher than its previous statistics, which reached 43 cases on March 25, 2025.
Most cases were reported in Lea County, adjacent to the Gains County in Texas, which is the current measles outbreak that began in late January in the two states.
