The Unit of Horry, Men, head and neck tumors at Sohag University Hospital continued its efforts to serve oncology patients in Upper Egypt, by carrying out 30 accurate and dangerous surgeries during the last week of the blessed month of Ramadan, in order to eliminate waiting lists and achieve a high and difficult goal that the Upper Egypt becomes without tumors.
Dr. Hassan Al -Numani, President of the University, said that what was presented by the Unit of Handbare and Men during the month of Ramadan reflects the size of sincerity and dedication from medical teams, who turned fasting hours into working hours and effort without tiredness or boredom. He stressed that these achievements demonstrate the ability of university hospitals to provide high -quality medical services, comparable to what is provided in major medical centers, in light of the full support from the university administration to develop the medical sector.
Dr. Magdy El -Qadi, Dean of the College of Human Medicine, added that the unit performed about 30 surgeries during the last week of Ramadan, including complex operations that took more than ten hours, including two rare cases. The first was for a young man in the thirties suffering from a cancerous ulcers with the left cheek that extended to the lymph nodes in the neck, and the tumor was completely removed and the cheek was rebuilt with a flesh of the arm from the arm, in cooperation with the microscopic unit. As for the second case, it was a two and a half years old, suffering from a lower jaw tumor that caused the destruction of half of the jaw, and the tumor was successfully removed.
Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, added that these repeated successes are part of a comprehensive development system witnessed by Sohag University Hospitals, in terms of capabilities, equipment, and medical cadres, stressing that this effort is an extension of more excellence in providing free and free medical service to our people in Upper Egypt.
Dr. Alaa Al -Suyuti, Head of the Department of Surgery and Dr. Kamal Al -Sharqawi, Director of the Unit of the Bachelor’s surgery and the head of the head, explained that this work was done in the spirit of the one team, with the participation of a group of professors and doctors of the maximum surgery, and the department of anesthesia, and microscopic surgeries, as well as nursing and technical sets, who showed a great commitment without any complaint, despite the long working hours.
The medical team included the Unit of Horry, Men and Centum Surgery: Dr. Kamal Al -Sharqawi, head of the unit, Dr. Ahmed Jaber Hassanein, Dr. Tariq Fattouhi, Dr. Islam Amer, Dr. Mahmoud Sobhi, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel -Ghani, Dr. Mohamed Abdel -Al, Dr. Mahmoud Fahmy, and resident doctors Hisham Mohamed Yahya Khalaf, Mohamed Kamal. From the anesthesia department, the medical team included under the leadership of Dr. Fawzi Abbas, head of the department, Dr. Iman Kamal, Dr. Ahmed Mamdouh and resident doctors: Muhammad Al -Hamal, Hadeer Mustafa, Yahya Muhammad. From the microscopic surgery unit, the medical team was included under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Saleh, head of the orthopedic department, Dr. Yasser Othman, head of the microscopic surgeries unit, Dr. Mohamed Shehata, and Dr. Asaad Mohamed.
