Zamalek club begins its career in the Egypt Capital Cup (League Cup) championship for the current season, with a strong confrontation against El Gouna, in the first group competitions, which also includes Modern Sport, Smouha, and Petrojet.
Zamalek did not participate in the first round of the championship, which saw El Gouna beat Smouha 1-0, and Petrojet over Modern Sport with the same result.
In the second round, Petrojet continued to shine by beating Smouha 2-1, to take the top of the standings with 6 points.
According to the tournament system, the first and second places of each group qualify to the quarter -finals, which makes this confrontation important to Zamalek in order to score the first three points in the competition.

The match will be held today, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Cairo International Stadium, and will start at 9:30 pm Cairo time.
