The Director General of the General Administration for the Implementation of Rights and Alternative Penalties, Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, stressed that the alternative penalties and open prisons program is one of the sublime humanitarian initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country’s great country, and it has continuous support from the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, noting the directives Program activities and requirements.

This came during the reception of Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, a number of members of the National Human Rights Committee in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the head of the security office at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Brigadier Bashar Al -Muslim.

During the meeting, the goals and achievements achieved by the program were reviewed, which included providing educational and training programs and qualifying plans aimed at evaluating the behavior of the beneficiaries of alternative penalties and gradually reintegrating them into society, while visitors were briefed on the facilities of the open prison complex that include educational buildings equipped with the latest electronic systems, housing units equipped with services, living needs, and various classrooms Which provides a comprehensive educational environment, in addition to the sports club building and carpentry workshop that provides vocational training for beneficiaries to acquire literal skills, as part of the efforts made to qualify beneficiaries according to the highest standards.

For their part, members of the National Committee for Human Rights praised the role of the General Administration to implement alternative judgments and sanctions in the application of the alternative penalties and open prisons, stressing that this experience is an advanced model that reflects Bahrain’s commitment to international standards for human rights, reform and rehabilitation, while souvenirs were distributed to the committee members from preparing the carpentry workshop run by the beneficiaries within the program, in a move that reflects their success in acquiring new skills that enhance their integration in the society.
