Liverpool coach, Arny Slot, commented on his team’s preparations before the upcoming match against Newcastle United in the Professional English Clubs Association Cup “Karabao”.
The Reds coach talked about the team’s preparations to face Newcastle, in addition to their farewell to the Champions League and their approach to winning the Premier League title this season.
“This is the first final match for me as a Liverpool coach, and it will be held in Wembley, a symbolic stadium for the English and the Dutch alike, so it is a great occasion to be part of it, especially after our loss against Paris Saint -Germain,” said Arny Slot, during a dialogue on the official website of the Liverpool team.
“We are very excited to play this final match against a strong team and coach Eddie Hao, who is running the team efficiently,” Saloute added.
He pointed out that “the Newcastle match may be perfect after leaving the Champions League, but I believe that our nine league matches will be also finals, so if we have to play for the league title on Sunday, I think we will be ready for that.”
He explained: “We sought to win every championship in which we participated, and unfortunately, we went out of the FA Cup, and after Tuesday, we also bid farewell to the Champions League, so only two titles left for us.”
He continued his speech by saying: “I think that the Premier League is the most difficult to win, as it includes 38 games, which requires us to make a great effort.
He added: “I am proud of my team for what they presented to Paris Saint -Germain, and the efforts they made this year, and I also feel proud to be the coach of this team.”
He also praised the Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, saying: “When we look at Newcastle, we faced them twice, and in the last game Izak did not participate, while he participated in the first match, he is a very important player for them, and it poses a great threat, and is characterized by the speed of Paris Saint -Germain on Tuesday.”
He concluded his speech by saying: “We must perform better than we have done on Tuesday, especially in our defense against counterattacks.”
Liverpool is preparing to face Newcastle United in the English League Cup final, next Sunday, at Wembley.
Liverpool qualified for the final match after beating Tottenham Hotspur in the semi -finals, while Newcastle United qualified for the same round by bypassing Arsenal at the same stage.
