A source familiar with the Ministry of Health revealed to Cairo 24 that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, will go Friday morning to inspect the site of the fire that broke out behind the administrative building of the Medical Licensing Department in the downtown area.

The Ministry of Health and Population made it clear in a statement that the fire broke out in wooden stalls not affiliated with the Ministry of Health, before the fire extended to the administrative headquarters of medical licenses and an administrative room attached to the central laboratory building.
The Civil Protection Forces managed to control the fire before it reached the central laboratory building and its medical devices.
The preliminary report of the Ministry of Health indicated that one injury was recorded with difficulty breathing as a result of inhaling thick smoke, as ten ambulances were paid to the accident site to provide immediate medical care.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stressed that the minister is directly following the developments of the fire, stressing the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of health facilities and their workers.
