Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, decided to dismiss Mohamed Hassan Al -Bahi from his position as head of the board of directors of the Egyptian wholesale trade company, as part of a plan to restructure the companies affiliated with the Ministry.

A source for Cairo 24 said that the dismissal included each of Ali Maher, Managing Director for Commercial Affairs and Regions, and Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Managing Director for Financial and Administrative Affairs, in the framework of reviewing the company’s administrative structure to ensure the achievement of the highest levels of efficiency.
These changes came after the company issued Administrative Decision No. 227 of 2024, which ruled to suspend a number of workers for a period of two months or until the completion of investigations into financial and administrative violations, related to a deficit in “my association” projects in the Qena Sales.
The Ministry of Supply stressed that these decisions come within the strategy of developing subsidiaries, to ensure the provision of more efficient supply services for citizens, and it is expected that it will soon be announced the appointment of new leaders in line with the vision of reform and development within the ration system.
In a related context, a criminal court north of Cairo issued a deterrent sentence to punish 24 accused of prison, with a fine of one million pounds for each of them, after it was proven involved in manipulating the support funds allocated to food commodities and seizing the price difference between the subsidized goods and their price in the market.
The ruling came within the framework of the efforts of the Administrative Supervision Authority to follow up the subsidized ration good and ensure that the support reached its beneficiaries, as the investigations, in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply, revealed that some officials allocated large quantities of supplied food commodities for the benefit of my association’s project ports that exceed the prescribed shares, and made them available for sale outside the system to achieve unlawful gains.
