The health authorities in the Ma’rib Governorate, eastern Yemen, announced on Sunday evening the recording of 10 deaths among children and 663 measles disease in the governorate since the beginning of this year.
A statement of the office of the Ministry of Health in the governorate said: Since the beginning of the current year 2025, 663 cases suspended from the use of measles, including 70 cases were confirmed in the central laboratory, while 10 cases of children died in Marib.
Field efforts to monitor and investigate
The statement added that the rapid response teams in the governorate are making field efforts in monitoring, investigating and following up in affected cases, in addition to the efforts of volunteers and health education volunteers in spreading health awareness of the importance of preventing diseases of immunization.
The statement called on parents to the importance of early reporting of suspected cases that have symptoms of fever, rash and ambulance to the nearest health facility.
The health sector in Yemen is suffering from one of its worst stages due to the continuous conflict between the internationally recognized government and the Houthi group for nearly ten years.
