The Syrian Minister of Education, Nazir Al -Qadri, announced the suspension of academic hours in the governorates of Tartous and Lattakia, today, Sunday and Monday, given the unstable security conditions.
While the University of Homs announced the postponement of all the remaining exams in its colleges this week.
In an announcement on its website, the university indicated that the date of submitting the postponed exams will be next Sunday, the 16th of this month, at the same time and timing of previous exams.
Violence in Syria
In another context, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States condemned the acts of violence, and the targeting of the government security forces in Syria.
The university said in a statement: The General Secretariat expresses its condemnation of the violence and targeting the government security forces and the escalating killing, as well as its condemnation of any external interventions aimed at fueling the internal conditions, threatening civil peace and exacerbating the challenges facing Syria at the current stage.
The General Secretariat of the Arab League added: We follow with great concern about the developments of the security situation in the Sahel region of Syria, and the confrontations that took place there.
The General Secretariat of the University stressed that these conditions require a focus on the policies and measures that strengthen and fortify stability and civil peace in order to miss the opportunity on any plans seeking to destabilize Syria and undermine its recovery opportunities.
