During the past week, the Egyptian Stock Exchange witnessed a contrasting performance through various indicators, as the EGX30 index increased by 1.1% to close at 30,947.44 points, supported by a strong performance of leadership stocks of great relative weight.

The EGX70 EWI index, which measures the performance of medium and small stocks, saw a 1% decline to close at 8,549.66 points, reflecting the pressure pressure on this slide of shares.

As for the EGX30 Capped index, which limits the impact of the major stocks, it increased by 0.9% to 38,618.21 points, which indicates a general cohesion in the performance of major companies, as EGX100 EWI, which includes all the companies listed in EGX70 and EGX30, scored 0.36% closed at 11,867.56 points, which reflects the difference between performance Great and small stocks, and the S&P EGX index increased by 0.55% closed at 6,976.72 points, reflecting an improvement in some of the shares followed by this indicator.

The total trading value during the week amounted to 385.2 billion pounds, with 6.286 billion securities through 392 thousand operations, compared to last week, the market witnessed a decline in the volume of trading, as the previous week recorded trades worth 464.8 billion pounds and a trading volume of 7.526 billion securities through 462 thousand operations, indicating a slight slowdown in market liquidity, and shares have acquired on Only 5.45% of the total trading value inside the cabin, while bonds and treasury bills acquired 94.55%, which reflects the direction of investors towards the debt tools during this period.

Sector performance analysis and their impact on the market

The real estate sector recorded the largest trading volume between the sectors of 947.1 million securities at a value of 3.5 billion pounds, and the sector continues to attract investors, especially with the continued investments in major real estate projects, which supported the performance of the EGX30 due to the presence of many large real estate companies within the index.

As for the non -banking financial services sector, it was ranked second with a trading volume of 1.5 billion securities and the value of trading 3.1 billion pounds, and the stability of the sector reflects the increasing interest in investment and financing services in light of economic transformations.

While the basic resources sector recorded trades of 3 billion pounds, with a size of 200 million securities, and some of the shares of minerals and heavy industries contributed to supporting the EGX30 index. While the banking sector achieved a trading volume of 19.6 million securities worth 902.4 million pounds, with investor confidence in the shares of major banks continued, despite the relatively low level of liquidity.

As for the food and beverage sector, it recorded trades worth 1.5 billion pounds, with positive moves in some leading shares, while the health care sector reached the value of trading 650.5 million pounds, with a size of 225.3 million securities, which reflects the concentration of investors on the most liquid sectors.

Expectations indicate that the momentum of the real estate and financial services sector continues, which enhances the performance of the EGX30 in the coming periods, and the slowdown in trading on small and medium stocks was reflected in the decline of the EGX70, which indicates profits earnings in this sector, and the high percentage of trading in bonds and permission reflects the orientation of investors towards the most stable sanctuaries during this period.
