Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, received a report today on the efforts of the inspection, performance and follow -up evaluation during the month of February 2025 to implement many sudden inspection campaigns and planned on local units (centers, cities and neighborhoods) in the various governorates of the Republic, examining the nature of their work and measuring the quality of work performance and ensuring that they implement the axes of the sector plan to monitor any violations, and reveal any aspects of administrative and financial corruption.
The Minister of Local Development indicated that the inspection and follow -up sector was carried out by 48 sedimentary and sudden inspections of 12 governorates, namely (Cairo, Alexandria, Qalioubia, Ismailia, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Giza, Sohag, Beheira, Suez, Fayoum and Menoufia), where some local units were inspected during that period, the following included an examination of 38 complaints for citizens in those governorates that included (violations on state property – Building licenses – occupations – public, financial and administrative violations – facilities – environmental – violating construction), noting that these campaigns had a positive and direct impact on citizens because of the immediate decisions taken to correct some of the violations that were monitored and overcome some difficulties and obstacles that stand in front of the achievement of the interests of citizens.
Referring 17 employees to the competent prosecution
Dr. Manal Awad explained that during its inspection campaigns, the inspection and control sector focused on following up the implementation of the investment plan projects in the governorates in its specified time timing and their implementation and their conformity with the specific conditions, evaluating the performance of workers in local units, the quality of local services provided to citizens in centers, cities and local units as well as following up the work of engineering departments and the system of reconciliation on violations Building and the system of issuing building permits, editing violations of the violating construction and infringements on state property, monitoring construction violations on the agricultural patch and outside the urban space, and the extent of the local units from taking legal measures regarding any violations that are monitored and issuing removal decisions and coordination with the security authorities to implement these decisions to preserve the agricultural area and preserve state rights.
The Minister of Local Development added that the hygiene system and mechanical campaigns were also followed up, the inventory of equipment and vehicles to show the readiness of its readiness, as well as the unemployed, and the measures that were taken regarding its maintenance, raising their efficiency, the system of exchange and fuel consumption, financial and administrative inspection, evaluating the performance of workers in local units, centers, neighborhoods, targeted cities, and examining citizens’ complaints.
Dr. Manal Awad indicated that the efforts of those campaigns carried out by the inspection and follow -up sector resulted in the referral of 17 employees to the competent prosecution and legal affairs to take the necessary legal measures in this regard, and the Minister of Local Development directed the performance evaluation, follow -up and inspection sector to exert more effort in coordination with the supervisory authorities to monitor any violations or obstacles in all local units in the governorates.
