The Parliamentary National Defense, Defense and Security Committee approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Correctional Justice Law and protecting them from ill -treatment issued by Law No. (4) of 2021, accompanying Decree No. (95) for the year 2024, and aims to ensure the contribution of the Child Protection Center to preparing judicial tests for children.
The objectives of the draft law include increasing the measures that can be taken towards the child, enabling the concerned authority in the Ministry of Interior to participate in following up on the affairs of the child, submitting a request to terminate, amend or replace the measure at any time without restriction for a period, and leave the ruling in the criminals with measures when a diluted excuse or circumstance in the crime, and enabling the court to monitor the extent of progress achieved by the child during his implementation of the punishment, support and support the child protection center in Follow -up and enhance control over the implementation of measures.
The Foundation considered that the amendments included in the draft law will constitute a qualitative addition to the legislative system, especially in the field of eliminating events and criminal protection for the child, and that they do not contradict the human rights contained in the relevant international bonds.
The project includes the replacement of articles (18), the first paragraph, (25), (27), (28), the second paragraph, (30) and (51) of the law of reform justice for children and protecting them from ill -treatment issued by Law No. (4) of 2021 with new texts.
