A phone call was made between Dr. Badr Abdel -Atti, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, and Mr. Steve Wittouf, the American special envoy of the Middle East on Thursday, March 6.

Communication dealt with the privacy of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States and the mutual interests it achieves in various fields and the joint endeavor to achieve peace and joint security in the Middle East. In this regard, Minister Abdel -Ati reviewed the Arab plan for early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, dealing with its various elements and stages, highlighting the entire Arab consensus that the plan enjoys as reflected by the Arab summit that Cairo hosted on the fourth of March.
The Foreign Minister stressed Egypt’s aspiration to continue the positive and constructive interaction with President Trump and the American administration to review the plan and its advantages in an integrated manner, stressing the need to continue joint efforts to implement all stages of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza from all its limbs and to allow Israel to enforce humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and pave the way to start recovery, reconstruction and end the war.
For his part, Wittouf affirmed his knowledge of the Arab plan, stressing that it includes attractive elements and reflects good intentions, expressing his welcome to learn more details about the plan during the coming period.
