The Minister of Health meets with the CEO of the Global Alliance for vaccine

Dr. Jalila bint Al -Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, received Dr. Sanya Nishtar, CEO of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Gavi), at the Ministry’s headquarters, during her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, the Minister of Health affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance joint cooperation in the health field, provide vaccines and support fortification programs, expand its international partnerships to ensure the sustainability of vaccine supplies and enhance readiness to address diseases, praising the prominent role that the global alliance of vaccines plays in supporting countries by providing vaccines and improving fortification systems.

It also reviewed the most prominent achievements of the Kingdom in the field of vaccinations, which have positively reflected the promotion of public health and reduce the spread of diseases; Which was evident in the period of fighting the Korona 19 global Korena 19, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance and sustain health security.

The Minister of Health also reviewed the initiative of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Arab Summit held in May 2024 regarding health care for conflict affected people, developing the pharmaceutical and vaccine industry in the region, and ensuring the availability of treatment. She emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to its implementation in cooperation with the World Health Organization, the League of Arab States and partners, as it relates to one of the basic human rights, which is the right to health.

For her part, Dr. Sanya Nishtar praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in developing its health system, stressing that the Kingdom is a pioneering model in strengthening fortification programs and ensuring fair access to vaccines, as well as noted the importance of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Global Alliance for Vaccine and fortification in supporting public health initiatives, especially with regard to expanding the scope of vaccinations and improving the capabilities of regional manufacturing for vaccines.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides expressed their aspiration to strengthen the frameworks of cooperation and strategic partnership to ensure the sustainability of vaccines and the achievement of regional health security, in a way that contributes to achieving global health goals.
