- Patient: If fasting is harmful to human health.
- Traveler: provided that the travel distance is more than 80 km.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding: If a woman fears herself or her fetus.
- The elderly: in the event of an inability to fast.
The Egyptian Dar Al -Iftaa confirmed through its website that in these cases, the breakfast must be eliminated after Ramadan, if he is able, or pays the ransom in the event of permanent deficit.
The intention of fasting in Ramadan
As for the intention of fasting in Ramadan, in a related context, the Dar Al -Iftaa confirmed that the intention of fasting is a condition for the validity of fasting, and a Muslim must intend to fast every night, whether by heart or pronunciation, and some jurists went until one intention in the first night of Ramadan is sufficient to fast the whole month, which is the opinion of the Hanafi.
