Engineer Assem Abdel -Latif Abdullah, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Livestock Affairs at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, affirmed the Ministry’s completion of all necessary preparations regarding the availability of adequate quantities of live animals and red and white meat, in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan, by facilitating the granting of import permissions according to the system and the unified veterinary stone law No. (8) of 2003 and its executive regulations No. (7) of 2004.
The agent revealed the total cows and live sheep that were imported for the holy month of Ramadan, which total more than 38,000 heads of sheep, cows and beauty, noting that 12 thousand heads of livestock are expected to arrive during the coming days in addition to large quantities of red, white and frozen meat, where 250 permits were approved for import.
The agent explained that the blessed month of Ramadan is one of the seasons in which the demand for meat is increasing, whether for home consumption or at the level of restaurants, which prompted agriculture and livestock affairs to prepare early to ensure the availability of quantities that meet the needs of the local market, indicating that the shipments of living animals will reach the Kingdom of Bahrain from multiple import areas where agriculture and livestock affairs seek within their strategy to open import from several Countries in addition to the countries that are allowed to import from them.
On the other hand, Eng. Assem Abdel -Latif stated that veterinary quarries doubled their work during this period, to verify animal missionaries that reach the Kingdom of Bahrain to ensure the safety of the imports of these missionaries of all kinds, whether living or slaughtered through laboratory tests, where 4529 different examinations were conducted to ensure the safety of the shipments received in accordance with the procedures and systems in force in the veterinary quarry department.
The Undersecretary of Agriculture and Livestock Affairs explained that the shipments of meat that reaches the Kingdom of Bahrain requires to authorize its entry to hold two certificates, the first is a health certificate and the other is a halal certificate, provided that it is issued by an Islamic center accredited in the country exporting that meat, indicating that with the attachment of a health certificate with meat shipments, the local production department is conducting the examination process and taking samples for the laboratory and verifying its safety before allowing it to circulate it In order to preserve the health of the consumer.
The agent explained that livestock merchants should consult those concerned in agriculture and livestock affairs before entering into contracts to import live animals and meat, whether white or red, to know the epidemiological situation of the country of export and take appropriate approvals and licenses and know the documents required to facilitate and facilitate the flow of mission in the outlets, in order to avoid any return or refusal to enter these shipments, calling on citizens And residents of the need to take care to deal with the approved and licensed slaughterhouses, and the importance of avoiding dealing with random slaughtering places because of its great risk to public health.
