The Vatican announced that Pope Francis, who had been hospitalized for two weeks due to his dual pneumonia, spent a quiet night and is now at a break, according to Reuters.
The Pope was transferred to Jimili Hospital in Rome on February 14, after initially diagnosed a popular inflammation, but the tests showed the development of the disease into more dangerous double pneumonia.
In a medical update issued by the Vatican, he confirmed that the condition of Pope Francis showed a continuous improvement, but he is still under careful medical control due to the complex clinical image of his health.
Reports pointed out that the Pope, who suffers from a weak lung due to his exposure to pleural infection in its youth and the operation of removing part of one of his lungs, is more exposed to respiratory problems.
The health status of the Vatican Pope
The Pope has experienced multiple healthy seizures in the past two years, and the Vatican indicated that the double pneumonia that is suffering from it represents a serious threat to the respiratory system, as it may lead to inflammation and scars of the lungs, which makes breathing more difficult.
Despite these symptoms, reports confirmed that the Pope did not suffer from frequent attacks since the breathing crisis he faced last Saturday, which is similar to asthma symptoms.
