An Egyptian medical team succeeded in extracting 13 pieces of coin of 1 EGP from the stomach of a fifteen -year -old child.
The Children’s Hospital at Mansour University received a child suffering from severe pain during the process of swallowing the food, and rays were conducted on the chest area, showing the presence of a coin in the esophagus, according to the director of the University Children’s Hospital, Dr. Ashraf Al -Sharqawi.
He explained that the endoscope was performed to extract the metal piece from the esophagus, but the medical team that was conducting the endoscope for the child was surprised by the presence of a large number of metal pieces, a category of 1 Egyptian pounds, which reached the end of the endoscope, 13 metal pieces.
The Children’s Hospital at Mansoura University praised the success of the medical team in the unit of the digestive system and the liver in extracting this large number of metal pieces without any complications for the child.
Mansoura University said that the unit of the digestive system at the Children’s Hospital is one of the distinguished units at the level of the Republic, which provides many specialized services in the diseases of the digestive system and liver for children, especially in the Delta.
