Great countries have turned into new battles arenas, where data and algorithms have become the strongest weapon. The United States and China, for example, lead this race. The first depends on its major technical companies while the second invests strongly in government artificial intelligence to enhance its economic and military power.
The winner in this war is the one who possesses the most advanced technology, which he can use to enhance his economy and impose his political influence, while the loser is the one who fails to knee, whether it is a state or an individual, to find himself a consumer of techniques that he does not have to control.
There is no doubt that the greatest danger lies in the influence of this technology on the person himself. With the increase in dependence on artificial intelligence, the skills of critical and creative thinking in individuals decline, which may make human beings more dependent on algorithms and less ability to make independent decisions.
In the past, knowledge was acquired through experience, research and thinking, but today, with a press of an artificial intelligence to program an application or diagnose diseases, or even a precise surgery, and while this may seem an impressive achievement, it raises a central question; Are we going to lose self -learning skills in favor of systems that think instead of us?
Technology is not the problem itself, but rather the way it is used; If a person relies on artificial intelligence as an auxiliary tool that enhances his thinking and expands his horizons, then this will be a civilized progress, but if the matter turns into a total dependence, so that humans become merely implemented by what the algorithms propose without analysis or thinking, we may be in front of a civilized catastrophe that leads to the decline in natural human intelligence.
Today, we already see some disturbing signals, such as the decrease in the capabilities of focus in new generations, and the decline in the ability to solve complex problems due to excessive dependence on technology, and if this trend continues, we may find ourselves in a world of governing machines, not by strength, but because humans have lost their ability to think independent.
