Dr. Ayman Al -Shihabi, Governor of Damietta, received at his office today, Dr. Zahi Hawas, the Egyptian scientist and former Minister of Antiquities, and Roberto Patch, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Cairo, and Bucksu Linardo Grade, deputy head of the mission and the consul of the Republic of Malta in Cairo.
The meeting came in the presence of the engineer, Shaima Al -Siddiq, Deputy Governor of Damietta, Ali Abu Dishish, Director of the Zahi Hawas Foundation for Antiquities and Heritage, and Mahmoud Al -Halouji, former director of the former regional museums.
During the meeting, Dr. Ayman Al -Shihabi expressed his great happiness with the visit of Dr. Zahi Hawas, the son of Damietta Governorate, which is proud of him, as Dr. Hawas is one of the prominent flags of archeology and Egyptians, stressing that the visit is a great opportunity to benefit from his great experiences to support the antiquities sector in Damietta Governorate and a proposal study to create a museum For the furniture in Damietta, to highlight the long history of that industry in Damietta.
The Governor of Damietta also welcomed the ambassador of the Republic of Malta during his first visit to the governorate, stressing that there are strong relations between the two countries, in addition to the presence of similarities between Damietta and Malta, and also stressed that Damietta Governorate has unique ingredients, in addition to its famous, with distinguished industries, and the presence of two -thirds of the Egyptian fishing fleet With it, he expressed his aspiration to achieve joint cooperation between the two sides to support a number of axes, as he called the Ambassador of Malta to Visit the city of Ras al -Bar, which has a unique tourist spot at the meeting point of the Nile River in the Mediterranean and the presence of the first five -star hotel in the Delta region.
The meeting witnessed the discussion of mechanisms to deepen the bonds of joint cooperation, and to launch plans that support the development strategy in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The governor presented the shield of Damietta Governorate to Dr. Zahi Hawas and Malta Ambassador in appreciation of that visit.
