The General Authority for Urban Planning, headed by Dr. Maha Fahim, held a meeting to present and discuss the proposed urban space for the city of Marsa Alam in the Red Sea Governorate.

This comes within the project of preparing strategic plans for small cities and cities of a special nature, which is being implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Program.

Fahim stressed during the meeting the importance of Marsa Alam as a prominent tourist and investment destination, stressing that the urban plan aims to enhance the city’s competitiveness, meet the increasing demand for housing and services, and diversify economic activity, in line with national and international strategies to achieve sustainable development and improve the quality of life.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Yousry, head of the consulting team, reviewed the second stage of the project, which includes analyzes of the current situation, setting standards for preparing urban space, and presenting the proposed alternatives to the space, in preparation for discussing it with the Red Sea Governorate.
